Steel Structure building commonly used coatings

Corrosion resistance and coating

For a long time, alkyd and phenolic coatings are commonly used in steel structures, while heavy anticorrosive coatings are used. Of course, traditional alkyd and phenolic coatings are also widely used in some factories and civil buildings.

In the steel structure coating design, the most important thing is to be based on the given conditions of the building, the corrosion prevention in the initial design to join in. The corrosion of steel structure by external factors should be fully considered, such as site conditions, house conditions, site conditions, construction conditions and space conditions, etc., taking into account the building coating design and given factors, the grading will be carried out, and then the coating design and selection within the scope of this grade. As for the overall durability of the film, construction conditions, maintenance management and economic factors must be taken into account. Usually a steel structure building painting scheme will have several options, from which to choose the best scheme.

Fire retardant coating and coating

Steel corrodes slowly, but a fire can destroy a building quickly. So steel structure building fire prevention is more important than corrosion prevention. According to the requirements of fire rating, fire retardant coating is widely used in buildings.

Fire retardant coating can not be directly coated on the surface of steel structure, steel structure of the bottom of the rust requirements or to be responsible for the rust paint. Commonly used anti-rust paint has epoxy primer, epoxy zinc - rich primer and inorganic silicate zinc - rich primer. Epoxy intermediate paint can be sprayed on the primer to increase rust prevention, and then fire retardant coating, its thickness according to different products, or not to determine the fire resistance limit. In order to make the coating beautiful and decorative, fireproof coating can also be coated with 1~2 layers of acrylic finish. If you are using epoxy fire retardant coatings, you can also apply polyurethane topcoat.
