The overlap tells buyers something useful: this is a base structural-fabrication range, not a bridge-specific premium or discount. What separates a bridge quote from a building quote at the same per-square-meter starting point is everything layered on top of that base — which is where the five variables below come in.
Five Line Items That Move a Vehicle Bridge Quote
| Cost Driver |
What It Changes |
Published in Base Range? |
| Span configuration |
Truss vs. plate girder vs. box girder — longer clear spans and torsion-resistant sections cost more to fabricate |
No — engineered per project |
| Load class |
Vehicle weight rating (light access vs. heavy haul/mining traffic) drives steel section size and connection detailing |
No — quote-required |
| Deck system |
Deck material, width and surfacing add cost independent of the main structural steel |
No — quote-required |
| Korozyon koruması |
Paint system vs. hot-dip galvanizing changes material and process cost, especially for coastal or high-humidity sites |
No — quote-required |
| Shipping and delivery |
Distance, number of modular segments and site access conditions affect logistics cost |
No — quote-required |
None of these five rows are covered by the published base range on their own. That’s not a gap in KXD’s disclosure — it reflects how bridge pricing works industry-wide, where a per-square-meter figure describes fabrication under generic conditions and everything project-specific gets priced after a site enquiry.

Span Configuration: The Biggest Swing Factor
Of the five variables, span configuration usually moves the price furthest from the base range, because it determines which structural type gets specified in the first place. A short vehicle bridge over a drainage crossing might use a plate girder — lower fabrication complexity, fewer welded connections. A long-span highway crossing or a haul road carrying heavy mining equipment more often needs a truss or welded box girder, both more labor-intensive to fabricate and, for box girders, more complex to weld into a closed torsion-resistant section.
Corrosion Protection Is Easy to Underestimate
Corrosion protection deserves its own callout because buyers frequently treat it as a finishing touch rather than a structural cost line. A paint system and a hot-dip galvanized finish aren’t interchangeable line items with the same price tag — galvanizing typically costs more upfront but changes the maintenance cycle over the structure’s service life, particularly relevant for coastal, high-humidity or de-icing-salt-exposed vehicle bridge sites. KXD doesn’t publish a fixed cost differential for this on the bridge product page, so it’s a question worth raising directly during quoting rather than assuming either option is included at the base rate.
SSS
Q: Does the USD 40–100/m² range include shipping?
A: Not as a fixed inclusion. Shipping and delivery cost depends on distance, number of modular segments and site access, and gets calculated separately during quoting.
Q: Why would two vehicle bridges with the same deck area have different prices?
A: Because deck area alone doesn’t capture span configuration, load class, deck system or corrosion protection — the same square-meter figure can sit at either end of the range, or outside it, depending on those variables.
Q: Is a heavier load class always more expensive?
A: Generally yes, since higher load ratings require larger steel sections and more robust connections, but the size of that increase depends on span and configuration together, not load class alone.
Q: What’s the minimum order size for a vehicle bridge quote?
A: 600 m², the published MOQ across KXD’s bridge product line.
Q: Can KXD provide a fixed total price without a site enquiry?
A: Not for the five variables above — those need span, load class, deck, corrosion-protection and delivery details before a project-specific number can be given. The base range is a starting reference, not a final quote.
Q: Why do some public bridge project documents show a single total cost while KXD publishes a range?
A: Public bid documents typically describe one completed project with every variable already fixed. A published range like KXD’s has to remain a range precisely because those variables haven’t been set yet for a given enquiry.
